How Battles Work
Operations are queued at Noon and all execute together in the
Afternoon. Regular operations have a fixed goose cost, strike range, exposure level,
and possible battlefield effect.
Operations
Choose from your unlocked operations. Probe, Assault, and Overrun are available at the start;
policies unlock faction operations such as Crow Expose, Duck Waterline Raid, and Pigeon Surge.
Strike vs Defense
- Strike: The operation's strike result reduces the target's defense.
- Exposure: The operation's exposure result determines goose casualties.
- Flanking: +1 strike for extra Goose-controlled neighbors of the target.
- Zone defense: The target's defense rating is the only human-side stat in
combat.
- Policy bonuses: Policies can unlock operations, improve operation stats, or add
zone modifiers.
Casualties & Capture
If defense hits zero, the geese take the zone. Failed operations can still matter by applying states
such as Scouted, Exposed, Softened, Flooded Approach, Rattled, or Surge Momentum.
